Technical and Digital Solutions Support Engineer

Reporting to:  Technical Manager

Overview

This opportunity is in the role of Technical & Digital Solutions Support Engineer at VEGA Controls Limited. As well as covering VEGA Level & Pressure measurement technologies, the candidate will provide specialist support in the growth area of digital and wireless solutions, including IIoT products and visualization software.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical support for customers and colleagues on the full level and pressure product range, as well as specialist digital solutions support and guidance, including IIoT products and visualization software.
  • Researching and answering technical questions from customers and colleagues by telephone, e-mail and in type written documents, in a timely fashion.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology. Identifying sales, marketing and service opportunities and liaising with colleagues within VEGA to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Provision of technical and digital solutions presentations and training for customers and colleagues.
  • Liaising with third party digital solutions organizations such as network, telemetry and datalogger providers. Researching digital solutions technology for the benefit of the Company.
  • Assisting the Technical Manager in a wide range of activities and providing cover in his absence.
  • Activities to enhance the quality of service delivered to VEGA customers with a good understanding of the sales process and commercial imperatives.
  • Fulfilling the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical background with an engineering or science qualification to a further education level.
  • A desire and ability to learn new subjects, to discuss technical matters and to impart technical information to others with clarity and confidence.
  • A good working knowledge and ideally some experience of digital solutions, information technology, networks and software.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and customers alike; in person; by telephone; in writing; in presentations and via video conference.
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a team as well as independently, using own initiative.
  • Sound organizational skills, with a methodical approach to handling enquiries in a wide variety of formats.
  • Computer skills, with a good knowledge of standard Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel are essential.

 

Location

This position is based at the Maresfield offices of VEGA Controls Limited.

The standard office hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 hrs with an hour for lunch, with the option of flexible working hours around this.

As it will be largely office based, the role will require extensive use of a telephone, computer and video meetings for communication. There is also an element of practical and hands-on work for equipment testing and the delivery of training in our seminar facilities and workshops.
