Digital Transformation: myVEGA, VEGA Tools, and PACTware Apps

Using a suite of interconnected apps and platforms, helping our customers with all aspects of their business with VEGA and the operation of their devices in the field using digital technology and cloud-based data.

  1. myVEGA: our comprehensive cloud-based business platform housing all product information, including configuration, ordering, documentation, delivery tracking, PINS and Codes as well as back up files for all sensor settings.
  2. VEGA Tools: our mobile-based platform for users in the field who can use one universal Bluetooth communication system (with 64-bit encryption) to set up devices, check calibration, monitor and maintain their operation, back up sensors to the cloud, or restore settings to devices from the cloud, it has a direct connection across to the registered VEGA Tools App.
  3. VEGA PACTware Software: A computer-based platform for field-based users who, via Windows can communicate to directly connected to sensors remotely via HART data on signal cables in a control cabinet or use Bluetooth to set up devices, get a reading, check their calibration, monitor and maintain their operation, back up sensors to the cloud, or restore settings to devices from the cloud. It also has a direct link into myVEGA web page.

Combined, they offer complete, secure crossover and sharing of sensor data, a serial number search (or QR scan) to discover full instrument details, IOM’s and certificates as well as back up of devices to the cloud. 

They are transforming the way our customers work, enabling collaboration across companies and departments, to service support, even configurations, pricing and live factory-direct delivery times, for sales for spares and repeat orders – all of which can be placed directly into VEGA.

Best Marketing Campaign: ‘Radar is the Better Ultrasonic’

Our four-year campaign, “Radar is the Better Ultrasonic,” boldly challenged the status quo in the water industry, which traditionally relied on non-contact ultrasonic technology for level measurement and open channel flow measurement over flumes weirs. By highlighting the superior accuracy, reliability, and affordability of our radar-based devices, this campaign disrupted the market and demonstrated the effectiveness of our solutions. Today, VEGA products are widely adopted by major water companies, helping to monitor and control storm overflow events, optimise digesters, dealing with problem sewage pumping stations and specialist processing in STW.

IIoT Product of the Year Award: VEGAPULS Air Product Range

VEGAPULS Air product range is designed with IIoT in mind. It’s a completely self-contained 80 GHz non-contact radar level device, telemetry outstation and GPS locator. Capable of measuring bulks solids or liquids with multi-modal communication via NBIOT LTE-m or LoRa means that they offer excellent versatility. Tank levels material volumes are one of the largest areas in IIOT where optimising transport capacity, as well as saving fuel and time, can offer huge savings and sustainable solutions.

It features three devices in the product range, a small, flat compact unit for measurement through IBC tops, self-adhesive, clamp or strap mounting with GPS built-in to enable not just tracking of level, but tracking of location. Two larger devices, one 15m range and the other 30m range for measuring liquid level or bulk solids level again with GPS built-in.

They are all battery powered, capable of 1 measurement a day for well-over over a decade, with replaceable batteries. The devices can provide data back to the VEGA remote inventory platform VIS, via a server to other data systems or LoRa offering direct data out. Devices set up via NFC and Bluetooth VEGA Tools App, simple for end-users to set up themselves.

With the advantage of simple installation (even measuring through plastic tanks) no extra boxes, aerials, power supplies or boxes– it enables fast simple deployment, easy set via App and minimal maintenance using radar based, non-contact and recalibration-free technology for level measurement. They can be used for timely delivery of materials or optimal collection of waste, saving time, fuel and resources. They were the unsung product at the heart of a project of the year winner at last year’s awards.

With over 10,000 devices already in use around the world already they are proving versatile, simple and reliable solutions for IIoT.

Industry Personality: Matthew Westgate – Water Industry Manager

This is the second time around for Matthew Westgate, but he has been instrumental (pun) in our business success in the Water Industry over the last 4 years.

His enthusiasm and personality has won him business, friends and admiration across the sector. He is the face of the water industry for VEGA, presenting to customers large and small: from tool box talks to university lectures, out on the sewage treatment works proving concepts and at the water company HQ for tendering meetings : His remit and energy has been inspirational and infectious to all that come into contact with him.

Our business has grown exponentially, Matt has migrated from ‘Business Development’ to ‘Water Industry Manager’, he is driving the VEGA brand, the service and product offering into the heart of the industry in a lasting and permanent way.

It’s not just been about sales, it’s being committed to customer service and going out of his way to deliver value and proof that ‘Radar is the Better Ultrasonic’ out to the industry every day.
