Corporate governance

VEGA Grieshaber KG is led by the two managing directors, Isabel Grieshaber and Markus Kniesel, who each have clearly defined areas of responsibility.

The company’s vision serves as a benchmark for decisions and as an expression of responsibility towards all stakeholders. VEGA’s mission makes this commitment something that can be seen and felt. Further details are available on the "About VEGA” page.

Transparent and responsible corporate governance forms the basis for sustainable, long-term business success. It supports attainment of the three key corporate goals:

Values-based corporate governance and ethics

Corporate governance is based on a shared understanding of values.

The VEGA Code of Conduct forms the obligatory basis for responsible conduct and applies to all employees – regardless of their function or position. It describes our expectations with regard to integrity, fairness, transparency and rules-compliant behaviour and fosters a corporate culture based on trust and responsibility.

Managers bear a particular responsibility to actively exemplify these values and embed them in day-to-day working life.

Data protection, information security and new technologies

Protection of personal data and sensitive information is a quintessential part of our governance policy.

Appropriate organisational and technical measures ensure data protection and information security. Staff are regularly made aware of the importance of handling information responsibly.

The use of new technologies – in particular artificial intelligence (AI) – is carried out in a transparent, responsible and risk-based way, taking into account ethical, legal and security-related aspects.

Integrity, compliance and responsible conduct

Compliance with laws and regulations

All employees are obliged to familiarise themselves with the rules and regulations relevant to their work and to comply with them. At the same time, we encourage an open corporate culture in which legal issues can be clarified at an early stage.

Corruption and fraud prevention

Corruption, bribery, fraud and other dishonest business practices are strictly prohibited. A strict zero-tolerance policy applies, especially in dealings with government agencies and public officials.

Fair competition

VEGA is committed to fair and responsible competition. Anti-competitive practices such as price fixing, market or customer allocation as well as misleading advertising are strictly avoided. Any violations that occur are investigated transparently and penalised accordingly.

Compliance with due diligence obligations

VEGA fulfils its due diligence obligations throughout the entire supply chain, adopting a risk-based approach. Suppliers are actively involved in this process. This is based on a risk analysis of all suppliers, taking into account country and industry specific factors.

 

Whistleblowing systems

All employees and external partners have access to reporting channels through which they can report suspected breaches of compliance or violations of legal regulations. Reports can also be submitted anonymously. The identity of whistleblowers is treated confidentially. Individuals who submit a report in good faith and on the basis of reasonable grounds to believe that a violation has occurred are protected by law from any detrimental consequences.

Sustainability at VEGA

VEGA develops measurement technology with the aim of supporting the efficient use of resources. We strive to contribute to greater sustainability through continuous further development of our sensors as well as responsible business practices. Furthermore, through our business activities we commit ourselves to strengthening regional economic structures and fulfilling our social responsibilities.
